Lauren Babb Tomlinson is a seasoned public affairs leader, former union organizer, and working mom running for Congress to deliver results for families being squeezed by rising costs. As Chief Public Affairs Officer for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, the nation’s largest Planned Parenthood affiliate, she has led major policy, advocacy, and healthcare access efforts across California and Nevada: fighting back against federal cuts, expanding care in rural communities, and protecting reproductive rights during some of the most challenging years in recent history.
Appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to chair the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, Lauren created the state’s first Women’s Economic Recovery Grant Program during COVID-19 and has been a statewide leader in advancing economic security, gender equity, and protections for survivors of domestic abuse.
Lauren’s commitment to her community is rooted in her lived experience raising a young child in an increasingly unaffordable economy. She understands what families are up against and has spent her career fighting to protect the programs they rely on.
