Evan Menist is the longest-serving member of the Poughkeepsie Common Council, where he’s fought for tenant protections, housing affordability, and tax relief for seniors. A policy researcher and urban planner by training, Evan has worked across the Hudson Valley developing housing, infrastructure, and economic development plans for communities from Newburgh to Beacon to Poughkeepsie. In Albany, he helped pass legislation that cut taxes for middle-class families, increased school funding, and raised the minimum wage. Now he’s running for New York State Senate to take on the corporate special interests and billionaires rigging the system — and put power back in the hands of working families across the Mid-Hudson Valley.
