Angela Gonzales-Torres is running for Congress in the heart of Los Angeles, California’s 34th Congressional District. Born and raised in Highland Park, she is the daughter of a deportee, raised by a single mother on SNAP and Medicaid. She works with people transitioning from prison into universities and promotes permanent affordable housing. As President of her Neighborhood Council, in the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, and on Metro’s Public Safety Advisory Committee, she has spent her life standing with her neighbors resisting displacement, in communities carrying the highest costs of incarceration, the dirtiest air in the county, and the most eviction notices in the city. Her connection to CA-34 isn’t political; it’s personal. Angela is running a student-led campaign to get corporate money out of politics because Los Angeles deserves federal representation that reflects the courage of its people.
